What it is

Sweet Karam Coffee is a Chennai snack brand founded in 2015 by Nalini Parthiban and Anand Bharadwaj, and the recipes come from Janaki Paati. Garlic murukku is a Tamil tea-time favourite: rice-flour dough pressed into short sticks and fried, with garlic in every bite.

The sticks are thin, straight and very crisp, with sesame through the dough and a garlic taste that lingers after the tea is gone. The 95 g bag is the one to share.
