What it is
Sohum products are made by Sohum Udyog in Khed Shivapur, near Pune, a company founded by the late Smt. Sushila Gargate, and known for traditional Maharashtrian food products.
Farali means food allowed on a fast, for Ekadashi, Navratri or Mahashivratri, when many families skip wheat and rice. This flour mixes rajgira (amaranth), sabudana and barnyard millet (bhagar), so rotis can still be on the plate. The dough is soft and short, and it will not stretch like atta. Choosing between Sohum fasting foods? Farali flour for rotis; upwas bhajani for thalipith; rajgira ladoo for something sweet.
Tip: Roll it between two sheets of baking paper. It sticks to the board and tears if you lift it.
Goes well with: Sohum Upwas Bhajani, Sohum Rajgira Ladoo, Heera Pink Peanuts
