What it is

MTR traces its roots to the Mavalli Tiffin Room restaurant, opened in Bengaluru in 1924 by Yagnanarayana Maiya. MTR Foods is still headquartered in Bengaluru and makes breakfast mixes, masalas and sweet mixes like this one.

The mix is wheat flour and milk powder with a little raising agent, so you only add liquid, shape, fry and soak. The jamuns come out soft and spongy right through. Choosing between sweet mixes?
