Description
Fine gram-flour pearls in sugar syrup, and the box says eat them warm.
- What: Motichoor ladoo, boxed
- Made with: Sugar, gram flour, ghee, saffron, rose syrup
- Pack: 300 g
- Best for: Diwali, pooja and after dinner
What it is
Motichoor ladoo is the fine-grained one. Tiny gram-flour pearls are bound in sugar syrup and pressed into balls, so it breaks apart in the mouth rather than holding together like a besan ladoo. Sugar leads the list at 56 per cent and gram flour follows at 36.
Haldiram’s make this one in the UK and put a "best eaten warm" flash on the front, which is worth taking literally. Choosing between the ladoos? Motichoor for the fine grainy one, besan ladoo when you want it denser, and rava ladoo for a coarser semolina crumb.
Tip: Warm it for a few seconds before it goes on the plate. The front of the box tells you to, and it is right.
Goes well with: Laxminarayan Besan Laddu 200g, Suswaad Rava Laddu 200g, GRB Pure Ghee 500ml
