What it is

Holi comes at the end of winter, on the full moon of Phalgun. The night before, a Holika bonfire is lit, and the next morning everyone goes out with colour: smeared on cheeks, thrown in handfuls, and mixed with water once things get serious.

This pack gives five colours, 100 g each, in red, green, orange, yellow and pink. That is enough for a small group in a back garden or a park. In Ireland, Holi tends to land on a cold morning, so plan on playing dry and washing up indoors.

Tip: Rub coconut oil into your hair and on your arms before you go out. The colour washes off much more easily.
