Description
Description
Finally being allowed to ring the bell while Appa circled the camphor.
- What: Pooja bell (mani, ghanti)
- Size: No.1, the smallest of three
- Made from: Solid brass
- Best for: A shelf shrine or a travel pooja box
What it is
The small brass bell is rung at the start of pooja and all through the aarti, while someone circles the camphor flame. At home it was often the youngest child's job, and a proud one.
No.1 is the smallest of the three sizes, with a light, bright ring that suits a flat, a shelf shrine or a pooja box packed for a trip. It will darken with use, which is patina rather than damage. Choosing between bells? No.1 for a shelf shrine; Pooja Brass Bell No.2 for a pooja room; Pooja Brass Bell No.3 when you want it heard across the house.
Tip: Hold it by the handle only. A finger resting on the brass cup stops the ring dead.
Goes well with: Pooja Brass Camphor Aarti No.2, Natraj Camphor, Gopuram 365 Wicks
