What it is

Narasu's was founded in 1926 in Salem, Tamil Nadu, by V Lakshmi Narasimhan, known as 'Narasu', who gave the brand its name. 2026 is its 100th year.

Delight is ground for the traditional steel filter: spoon it into the top chamber, pour over hot water and let the decoction drip through slowly, then mix with plenty of hot milk. A 500 g pack keeps a coffee-drinking house going for weeks. Choosing between Narasu's coffees? Delight for the everyday filter cup; Udhayam for the strong 80:20 blend; Peaberry for a fuller, rounder cup.

Tip: Warm the milk until it just rises, never a rolling boil. Boiled milk flattens the coffee.
