What it is

Aashirvaad is owned by ITC Limited and was launched in 2002. Its atta packs are known for their Madhubani-style art showing rural farming scenes.

This is the multigrain version: wheat with soya, chana, oat, maize and psyllium husk in the same flour. The dough is a little denser and darker than plain atta, and the chapatis have a nuttier taste with a slightly coarser bite. Choosing between attas? Plain chakki atta for the softest phulka; multigrain for a heartier everyday chapati; Sohum Lokwan atta if you grew up on Maharashtrian polis.

Tip: Knead, then rest the dough for 20 minutes under a damp cloth. It rolls out much more easily.
