Adyar Ananda Bhavan (A2B) was founded by K.S. Thirupathi Raja, who started out making sweets in Rajapalayam. It is named after its outlet in Adyar, Chennai, and its sweet and savoury counters are a fixture of Chennai evenings.

Thattai are thin, flat discs of rice flour, pressed by hand and fried until crisp. This one is seasoned with black pepper, so the crunch comes first and the heat follows a moment later.
