What it is
Native Food Store was started in Chennai in 2016 by P. Vishnukumar, an engineer by training, as a one-stop shop for millets and millet-based products. These noodles are made with kambu, pearl millet, the grey grain of dry Tamil and Rajasthani fields.
They cook in about four minutes and come out darker and earthier than the multi-millet noodles, with a taste that stands up to plenty of chilli. Choosing between Native Food Store millet noodles? Kambu for earthy; samai for light and fine; ragi for the darkest.
Tip: Toss in a spoon of idli podi with the vegetables. It clings to the noodles better than chilli powder.
Goes well with: 777 Idli Chilli Powder, Swaad Mustard Seeds Black, Heera Curry Leaves
