What it is

Horlicks was created in 1873 by brothers James and William Horlick, English emigrants working in Chicago. India is now the largest market for Horlicks in the world, and the brand there has been owned by Hindustan Unilever since 2019-2020.

Classic Malt is the plain malt flavour: malted barley and wheat (65.6% malt) with milk powder, stirred into hot or cold milk. It tastes sweet, biscuity and malty, the taste most people remember from childhood. Choosing between malt drinks? Horlicks for classic malt; Boost for chocolate malt; Bournvita for a cocoa drink.

Tip: Mix the powder to a paste with a spoon of warm milk first, then top up. No lumps at the bottom of the mug.
