Kai means hand. Kai murukku is the thick, many-looped ring that was twisted by hand rather than pressed, the one that goes on wedding seer trays. It is heavier and crunchier than pressed murukku, and each thick ring breaks into big, satisfying chunks. Choosing between murukkus?
