What it is

Aashirvaad is owned by ITC Limited and was launched in 2002, and its atta packs are known for Madhubani-style art of rural farming scenes. This is its multigrain atta: whole wheat blended with soya, chana, oat, maize and psyllium husk.

The flour is a little darker than plain atta and the dough feels denser, so it takes more water. The chapatis come out soft with a slightly coarser, nutty bite, and they stand up well to a kurma or dal. Choosing between Aashirvaad attas? Chakki atta for the softest everyday phulka; multigrain for a heartier chapati; the 10 kg multigrain bag if a big family eats roti daily.

Tip: Rest the dough for a full 20 minutes. Multigrain dough rolls much more easily once it has rested.
