Puran Poli (Sweet lentil-stuffed flatbread)

Puran poli is the sweet that Maharashtrian families judge each other on. Chana dal cooked with jaggery into a filling called puran, sealed inside a dough so soft it barely holds together, and rolled thin enough to see through.
